About

Training is happening in libraries everywhere. Almost every library has some form of staff training and/or patron training. This site seeks to serve as a resource for the people providing the training. Well-done training can dramatically affect the culture of the library and the services provided to library users.

I am the Continuing Education Consultant for the Northeast Kansas Library System.  I used to be a doctoral student in the School of Library and Information Management at Emporia State University, but wallowed in the final stage for too long and now will perpetually have completed the courses, the exams, but never the dissertation. I have facilitated WebJunction webinars and have moderated the Emerging Technologies section of the WebJunction discussion boards. My previous positions include Library Training Specialist for the MaintainIT Project; Technology Consultant for the Northeast Kansas Library System; Trainer and Staff Development Coordinator for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s US Library Program, and Reference Librarian for the Lake Agassiz Regional Library System in Detroit Lakes, MN.
